I watch for those items that go on sale seasonally and I try to stock up.
That's right. I bought 4 turkeys last week.
One is obviously for Thanksgiving, but I will end up with a total of 6-8 turkeys to serve later. My boys love a good bird, so I try to stock up while they are fresh and reasonably priced.
I do have a stand alone freezer in my garage to make storing bulk food possible. To be honest I try to keep it filled with pre-cooked meals or larger quantities of meats.
